Update to Fun Times page --> Hanna's Baptism

January 5th, 2009

Wow! I cannot believe it has been over a month since I have written about Hanna.  The holiday season kept us busy with the usual Christmas activities, and Hanna definately took part in most all of them.  Hanna and I spent more time than I normally would Christmas shopping this year as one who has children knows, shopping is slightly more time consuming with a baby :-)  Needless to say, Hanna probably knows her way around Nordstrom by now.  She also went with me the the Festival of Trees where it was the lights and shiny ornaments that caught her eye.  She has really taken a liking to anything bright and shiny, and enjoyed sitting in her bouncer in front of our Christmas tree while we cooked and ate dinner.  I almost felt like leaving it up an extra month because she loved looking at it so much! Hanna and I also joined  her cousins Kayla and Ava, along with her Aunt Brenda, Uncle Jonny, Aunt Mel & Uncle Nick  in Tacoma at the Point Defiance Christmas display called Zoolights. It was a chilly night so Hanna stayed bundled up and Uncle Nick took her around in the stroller.  As many of you know and experienced for yourselves, we got quite a bit of snow and the temperatures were fridgid for awhile!  On one of the warmer days Jeremy and I bundled Hanna up in her pink bear outfit, hat, and mittens and ventured out with Bailey for a short walk.  She was wide eyed the entire time and seemed amused by Bailey acting so silly and jumping around in the fresh powder.  Despite the snow and bad road conditions we made it to Olympia to celebrate Christmas with family.  Christmas Eve Mass was Hanna's first time in Church and she did very well (especially considering it was after her bedtime).  Christmas morning Jeremy cooked breakfast for everyone and we opened presents together.  Hanna had so many presents, we could have burried her under all of them (instead we piled them around her :) It was such a fun Christmas watching Kayla and Ava open their presents, or at least try to, and see thier reactions.  At one point Kayla even had a bow stuck in her hair.  Hanna managed to sleep through all the Christmas chaos around the tree so Jeremy and I took the honor of opening her presents for her.  While she may have slept through this part of Christmas, she is definately enjoying the toys and books she was given and will be looking stylish in her clothes once she is big enough to fit in them.  I am willing to bet that this is the one and only time she will be sleeping through present opening at Christmas! She also spends lots of time playing on the quilt her Grandma made for her.

Milestones

As if Christmas wasn't exciting enough, Hanna and her cousins Ava and Kayla all reached new milestones over Christmas!  Hanna is now rolling over from front to back and we even caught it on video!  She did it for the first time when she was just over 3 months old, and then at Christmas she did it again 7 times in a row!  Now that's no fluke!  Ava is now sitting up on her own and Kayla is walking.  It is so fun having all three girls together, they provide so much entertainement  for us all!

Hanna spent the last week away from home visiting family.  Monday-Wednesday were spent in Olympia visiting Grandma and Grandpa Zittel as well as her Aunt Mel, Uncle Nick, Aunt Brenda, Uncle Jonny and cousins Kayla and Ava.  Thanksgiving morning Jeremy, Hanna, Bailey and I drove down to Portland to share the Thanksgiving holiday with the Fritts family.  We had a nice Thanksgiving meal and even got to go see a movie while Grandma Fritts, Great Aunt Carolyn, and Aunt Kristen watched Hanna.  Friday was spent hanging out with family and relaxing.  Saturday afternoon we headed back up to Olympia for the rest of the weekend.  Sunday morning Hanna spent some time with her Great Grandma Pommie before we headed back home.  Hanna does very well with all the traveling (road trips) we have gone on so far and seems to adjust to her new environment with ease.  Hannas new thing is putting her fist in her mouth and sucking on it.  She has also started to drool considerably more over the last week as well.

Jeremy turned 28 this week!  Thursday we celebrated Jeremy's 28th birthday with friends at The Rock pizza place in Mill Creek and had a great time.

Friday we headed down to Tacoma to see the Kang family and meet baby Madison for the first time.  Madison was just over 3 weeks old when we saw her and it is the first time ever that Hanna has looked big next to somebody... it's crazy how quickly they grow, and to think that Hanna was that little just several weeks ago!  It was nice to see the Kang family and we hope to see them again soon.  Later that evening we met up with Uncle Jonny, Kayla, Nick and Jamie and had dinner at Masa Comida Mexicana.

Saturday Dad had a guys night out so Aunt Brenda and Kayla came up to hang out, I guess you could say we had a girls night in :-)  Sunday Morning after breakfast we walked to the dog park near our house to let Bailey run around for awhile then headed to town and had lunch together at Nordstroms where we picked up a cute pair of boots for Hanna so she can match her cousin kayla.

Hanna had her 2 month check with the doctor this week and she is doing very well.  She has acheived all the milestones for a 2 month old including smiling, cooing, lifting her head for longer amounts of time and tracking objects visually.  She now weighs in at 9lb 10 oz!

Jeremy and I also had our first night out without Hanna this week...we spent the evening in Bellevue having dinner and then desert at one of our old favorites, Daniel's Broiler while Uncle Jeff and Aunt Kristen took care of Hanna. It was hard to both be away from Hanna for the first time but when we left she was all smiles which made the departure a little easier,  and when we got home she was nice and peaceful and ready for bed.  Needless to say Hanna got a very good report card!  While we enjoyed the alone time together we spent much of it talking about Hanna, checking in on her, and wondering what she was up to...we couldn't help it  :-)

Saturday Hanna and I went to Karen's baby shower for little Carter who is due December 26th and  later  that day we celebrated Jeremy and Aunt Kristen's birthdays at Maggiano's.  Aunt Brenda, Uncle Jonny and Kayla were also there to help celebrate, and Kayla and Hanna were looking adorable in their matching black pea coats, red mock turtlenecks, and cream and black pants.

Hanna had an eventful week.  Starting on Wednesday we left for Moro, Oregon to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Fritts for a couple nights.  While in Moro, Hanna got to meet her Great-Grandparents on the Fritts side of the family as well as her Great Uncle Bert, Great Aunt Lori, and her second cousins Amanda and Krista for the first time.

Friday morning we left Moro to go to Cannon Beach.  On our way to the beach we stopped in Portland  to meet Uncle Scott and Aunt Megan for lunch.   We ended up in Cannon Beach in the early evening and spend the next few days with Aunt Brenda, Uncle Jonny, Kayla, Nick and Jamie.

On Tuesday afternoon Hanna and I got to meet up with Annmarie, David and Kim in Mill Creek for some lunch and later that day we met up with Aunt Kristen and enjoyed happy hour at Ruth's Chris in Bellevue.  Saturday morning and afternoon was a relaxing one, we all slept in, Daddy cooked breakfast and we hung out as a family, with nothing to do but enjoy each other! Hanna is starting to smile and coo more and we just love being with her together, she is such a good baby! Later that night Hanna put on her party dress for David's party to celebrate his passing the BAR. We had a nice time at the party with family and friends.  Sunday Hanna sported her Seahawks cheerleader outfit and watched the game at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Kristen's place with a few other friends.  We ended our week with a nice dinner at Jon and Megan's house and they meet Hanna for the first time.

Above is a picture of Hanna with her family at the Bear Creek Country Club in Woodinville this weekend.

Hanna is now 6 weeks old! She spent time with her Mom and Bailey last week going for walks outside while the weather is still sunny.  Over the weekend Hanna met her Great Great Aunt Betty. You can see pics of them together under the Visitors and Cousins pages.  Hanna also got to see her Daddy swim in his first ever swim meet on Saturday. Jeremy joined Hanna's Uncle Jonny and Aunt Kristen in the Monster Mile swim meet at the YMCA.  Hanna was joined by Kayla, Aunt Brenda, Ava, Aunt Melanie, Grandma, and Uncle Jeff cheering on in the bleachers.

Hi Everyone,

We wanted a way to keep in touch with all of you on how Hanna is doing, so we started this website.  We hope to keep it updated on a regular basis.

By now Hanna has had many doctors appointments, and she has passed with flying colors.  She is now above her birthweight and is gaining weight like a champ.

We are also hoping to add some video in the next couple days.

Hope you all enjoy this, and email
jeremyfritts@yahoo.com or frittsa@gmail.com with any ideas!

Love,

Alicia, Jeremy and Hanna
